NRA Basic Pistol

This class teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely.

This course is an eight-hour course and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot semi-automatic pistols. Students learn rules for safe gun handling; pistol types, pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from two-handed standing positions; cleaning and caring for a pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive all the necessary training materials.

The Basics of Pistol Shooting is for adult individuals (or minors, aged 16-18, accompanied by a participating parent and/or guardian) who are not disqualified from possessing a firearm as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law and are of good repute and possess defensive pistol skills presented in the Basics of Pistol Shooting.

The training fee for this class is $135. Bring your own ammunition and firearm OR you can make rental arrangements. Seating is limited and prepaid registration is required.
